app2

Welcome to one of our newest endeavors! With so many tech-savy (and not so tech-savy) people using the iPhone and Android, it seems to be our next logical move to get moving in the app world. We have done our homework and plenty of testing and can proudly say we are ready to begin this exciting new realm of development. So you may be thinking: Why do I need an app for my business?  Well to start…

- It connects you with people around the world. No matter what type of business you are in, exposure to the masses is key. The more people you can reach, the bigger revenue you expose yourself to.

- It is a cost efficient and highly effective marketing tool.

- You can put your business out there in a short amount of time. Going viral and staying relevent is key.

- It gives your business another form of interactivity for your client base near and far.

- It’s cool! You can create a game, e-commerce store, puzzle, employee-accessed business tool or whatever! The possibilites are infinite.

So, what are you waiting for? Our apps are designed specifically for your business and undergo extensive testing and review before launch. If you would like to set up a meeting to discuss your future app, contact sales@vndx.com to get started. The world is waiting…

What do you know about Facebook Connect?

by admin on June 15th, 2010

FBconnect

With the vast increase of social media web usage, VND is now implementing Facebook Connect enabled websites that allow for seamless interaction with the Facebook platform.

So what is Facebook Connect?

Facebook Connect is Facebook’s latest addition to its development platform. It enables developers to leverage the power of Facebook’s social context in existing, third-party Web sites.  The platform features seamless, one-click authentication, Facebook friend account linking, distribution back into Facebook streams, and the full power of the Facebook REST-like API and FQL. Utilizing Facebook Connect for authentication has proven to dramatically increase site exposure and new user registrations.

With the Facebook Connect APIs you gain access to:

- Identity: a user’s name and photos.

- Friends: data about a user’s friends.

- Distribution: all of the integration points within Facebook, like the stream stories and notifications.

- Integration: profile boxes, profile tabs, and publishers just like apps on Facebook.

Use these APIs to enable users to easily share your content and the actions users take on your site with their friends on Facebook. With more data about a user and their friends, you have the power to create a more social and engaging experience on your site.

Contact us for more info to get this valuable tool on your website!

sacada

VND is proud to unveil the completely redesigned website for the San Antonio Council on Alcohol and Drug Abuse, also known as SACADA. VND implemented an online donation area along with an interactive calendar area. The new site features user-friendly navigation and integration of social networking.

So what is SACADA? The San Antonio Council on Alcohol and Drug Abuse was organized by a small group of prominent citizens in 1957 to educate the community about the disease of alcoholism and to help alcoholics and their families find help. Fifty years later, the Council is still working to educate communities about one of its major health problems—alcoholism, an addictive disease— and is still working to strengthen families. Youth Orchestras of San Antonio chooses VND

by admin on October 9th, 2009

yosabanner

YOSA (Youth Orchestras of San Antonio) has chosen VND to partner up and complete their various updates to their website.

So what is YOSA?

Now in its 33rd season, Youth Orchestras of San Antonio provides a rich offering of orchestral music, education and performance opportunities for young people throughout the South Texas region. YOSA supports five youth orchestras, a Beginning Strings program and a two-week summer string camp that welcomes young musicians from beginner level through advanced. Prelude Strings, comprised of violin, viola and cello, provides an introductory orchestral experience that helps children develop music reading ability. Students with a few years of experience play in the Capriccio Strings. Sinfonietta Strings is an intermediate string ensemble where young players can further develop as section members before moving to the Symphony Orchestra, which is a full orchestra with winds, brass and percussion. YOSA’s Philharmonic Orchestra is a full symphonic orchestra made up of the area’s finest young musicians who perform the full orchestral repertoire at the highest level of excellence. The Philharmonic, Symphony and Sinfonietta orchestras rehearse on Sunday afternoons at the main University of Texas at San Antonio campus. Rehearsals for Prelude and Capriccio Strings occur on Tuesday evenings at the Covenant Presbyterian Church in Castle Hills.

The 2009-2010 concert season includes more than 20 public performances at various cultural, educational and community centers throughout the city. In addition to local performances, YOSA undertakes an international tour every three years. In June 2010, students from the Philharmonic and Symphony Orchestras will travel to China. The annual two-week Summer String Camp fills to capacity each year and offers instruction in music theory, composition, history, conducting and chamber music.

Music education is central to YOSA’s mission. Professional music educators and advanced students provide string instruction in schools and community centers. Financial aid and loaned instruments are available to those who qualify. YOSA serves 450 students ranging in ages 6 to 21. Students come from 104 schools in 20 school districts. They reflect the rich cultural diversity of the area and represent the full socio-economic range of our community.

YOSA is governed by a Board of Directors of 19 community leaders. The staff includes eight full-time members and four contract conductors.
